CreditPerk Privacy Policy

CreditPerk is a store credit app for Shopify merchants. This page explains what information the app collects, why it needs it, and what happens to it.

There are two separate things covered here: the app, which runs inside your Shopify admin, and our website at getcreditperk.com. They collect different things, and the app collects far less.

Information we collect

• Store information. Your shop domain and an API access token. The app needs these to run inside your Shopify admin.
• Order and refund data. When a refund happens on your store, Shopify notifies the app so it can apply your refund bonus rules. The app reads the order ID, the refund amounts and payment method, and the customer's ID and email address. It does not read anything else about the order.
• Credit activity. The app keeps a log of every store credit it issues for you: the amount, currency, customer email, related order, and whether it succeeded. This log exists so you can see exactly what the app has done on your store.

Analytics on our website

Our public website at getcreditperk.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google information such as the pages you viewed, your approximate location based on IP address, and the type of device and browser you used. We use it to understand how people find the site.

Google Analytics is not loaded inside the app. When you open CreditPerk in your Shopify admin, there is no analytics tag on the page and we do not track how you use the app.

If you would rather not be counted, you can block the tag with a browser extension or use Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. None of the site's content or functionality depends on it.

We also use Google Search Console, which reports the search terms that led people to the site. That data is aggregated by Google and does not identify individuals.

What we do not collect

• Payment card details, yours or your customers'.
• Customer names, addresses, or browsing history.
• Anything from stores that have not installed the app.

How we use information

We use your data to run the app's features: issuing store credit, applying the automation rules you set up, and showing you your own activity history. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for marketing. Store credit balances live in Shopify's own systems rather than ours, so uninstalling the app has no effect on your customers' balances.

Data retention and deletion

• When you uninstall the app, its access to your store is revoked right away.
• When a customer asks to have their data erased under GDPR, Shopify notifies the app and their personal details are removed from our logs automatically.
• When a store owner requests deletion, or Shopify sends its post-uninstall purge notification, we permanently delete all data for that store.

Data storage and security

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway infrastructure in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the app's operator.

GDPR and CCPA

The app implements Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact) and honors data requests routed through Shopify. You can also export your full activity log as a CSV from the app's Activity page whenever you want.
